This year’s Spring Meeting of the Condensed Matter Section of the DPG took place in Dresden, on March 26th-31st, 2023. It ranks traditionally among the largest physics congresses in Europe. Therefore, we are particularly proud that one of our CRC members, Adriana Bocchini from the Theoretical Materials Physics in Paderborn group won the DPG poster award for her work on the electrochemical performance of KTiOAsO4 crystals as cathode and anode material for K-ion batteries. Her calculations suggest that the material is suitable for electrodes that are characterized by high average voltages, modest volume deformations, i.e., high cyclic stability and low migrations barriers, i.e., short charging times.
The title of her poster was “Electrochemical performance of KTiOAsO4 (KTA) from density functional theory”.
Congratulations!
